    <div class="html-content"><p><span>In 2020, the </span><span>3D model sharing service Thingiverse suffered a data breach. </span><span><span>On October 13, 2021, the data compromised in the breach was posted in various hacker forums.</span> This breach contained data for approximately 228 thousand </span><span>customers. The information included usernames, </span><span>email addresses, names, passwords, IP addresses, and geographical addresses.</span></p><br><p><span>The compromised data was shared in an online hacking forum. Four UMBC accounts were victims of this breach. The victims are being notified via their UMBC emails and/or their alternate emails.     <div class="html-content"><p><span>Account data breach: LinkedIn </span></p><br><p><span>In April 2021, an employment-oriented online service, LinkedIn, was targeted by attackers who scraped data from hundreds of millions of public profiles and later sold them online. Whilst the scraping did not constitute a data breach, nor did it access any personal data not intended to be publicly accessible, the data was still monetized and later broadly circulated in hacking circles. The information included education levels, email addresses, genders, geographic locations, job titles, names, social media profiles. No financial information was leaked.</span></p><br><p><span>2029 UMBC accounts were victims of this scrape. The victims are being notified via their UMBC emails and/or their alternate emails. <Title>Campus Wide Network and Service Outage Earlier this Morning</Title>

    <div class="html-content">From approximately 9:40 to 10:40 the campus experienced a widespread service outage that affected most campus systems including login to myUMBC, blackboard, and the campus websites among others. This was the result of an unexpected internal systems failure. Unfortunately, while these systems are all designed to be resilient and have multiple redundancies in place, the system did not failover cleanly, causing this outage. <div><br></div><div>Our engineers were able to bring the systems back online and restore all services within an hour. <Title>October brings student receipts &amp; bigger rubrics for Ultra</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><div>Rubrics are grading tools that help instructors to assess student performance and give feedback in detail. <span>Prior to the October update, rubrics were limited to 10 rows and 10 columns. Now faculty can create rubrics with up to 15 rows and 15 columns, providing more flexibility for the grading process.</span></div><div><br></div><div>Students need a way to ensure their work has been correctly submitted into the system. <span>The latest update to Ultra features the student receipts for assignment submissions, which </span><span>provides students with a unique tracking number that confirms their academic submission. </span></div><div><span><br></span></div><div><div><img src="https://blackboard.umbc.edu/bbcswebdav/institution/doitnews/ultra-updates/learn_ultra_student_SubmissionReceiptsAndTracking.png" alt="Student submission receipts" width="500" style="max-width: 100%; height: auto;"></div><div><br><div>Finally, <a href="https://wiki.umbc.edu/x/GoPVBw" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">tables are available</a> in the Ultra content editor, providing a way for instructors and students to align and organize content.
