Faculty can also motivate students in the upcoming Blackboard with a form of "gamification" by incorporating badges into their courses. With the Blackboard achievements tool, faculty can provide this kind of incentive by designing a badge system to encourage students to explore and participate more.

A student's badge collection can represent the key learning milestones that he or she met. It should automatically install just like Network Connect and should function in the same manner.

The FAQs for both Mac and PC can be found below and will be updated before tomorrow.
UMBC Establishes Adobe Campus Site License

<Tagline>Adobe Creative Cloud now Available through myUMBC</Tagline>

This summer, working through the Maryland Education Enterprise Consortium (MEEC), UMBC established a faculty/staff site license with Adobe for their new Creative Cloud offering (see detailed list of software below). This allows the use of the Adobe products on all institutional computers and includes a work-at-home provision for faculty and staff.

One challenge we had is that the contract could not go into effect till August 25th. As a result, we worked closely with Adobe to prioritize getting the software ready for the start of classes in UMBC instructional labs. The software is now available to download to faculty and staff desktops on the myUMBC software downloads page. Note: The work-at-home provision requires people to go through a 3rd party company and Adobe’s online portal.
