As scholars and affiliates, we've all expressed a commitment to service to further CWIT's mission. CWIT Student Council has been working closely with ASME, ISCOM, and SWE to host this service event.
Let's Get Techy is an outreach project that brings in 60+ middle school students to UMBC and allows them to cycle through three different activities: IT, Engineering, & a Campus Tour. We target middle school students because research has shown that is the time when kids start thinking about what they want to be when they grow up and what subjects they like and don't like. We promise this experience will be rewarding!
