UMBC's Center for Women in Technology (CWIT) was featured in an article about college-level women in engineering programs in a recent edition of the Baltimore Sun Newspaper. CWIT Director Dr. Penny Rheingans was quoted, talking about how programs like CWIT are part of the solution for the current lack of gender diversity in the IT and engineering fields. The CWIT Scholars Program, Living Learning Community, Affiliates Program, and Bits & Bytes were featured as unique aspects of UMBC's approach to tackling this nation-wide issue.
