<Title>GWST student Alexandra Mills received a Fulbright award!</Title>

    <span>Alexandra Mills was awarded a Fulbright U.S. Student award for the 2013-2014 academic year to Malaysia. The grant is for the English Teaching Assistantship program (ETA), and it is a scholarship fully funded by the federal government in order to promote mutual understanding between the U.S. and other countries. </span><br><div><span><br></span></div>
    <div><span>The Fulbright U.S. Student Program is the largest U.S. exchange program offering opportunities for students and young professionals to undertake international graduate study, advanced research, university teaching, and primary and secondary school teaching worldwide.  The program currently awards approximately 1,800 grants annually in all fields of study, and operates in more than 155 countries worldwide. Fulbright U.S. Student alumni populate an entire range of professions and include ambassadors, members of Congress, judges, heads of corporations, university presidents, journalists, artists, professors, and teachers.</span></div>

    <span>Through studying the implications of gender, race, and historical connections to power, Gender + Women's Studies graduate assistant Teresa Foster was accepted to receive the Wing Fellowship with the Maryland Historical Society!</span><div><span><br></span></div>
    <div><span>The purpose of the Wing Fellowship is to assist a graduate student in undertaking a significant project in Chesapeake colonial history. Areas of research, which are of particular interest, include maritime history, the arts, economic development, archeology, and life in the early Chesapeake Bay region. Proposals for other subjects and themes of colonial history are also welcome.</span></div>

    <p>On-Campus Interviews offer students a chance to conveniently interview for professional positions on campus.  Employers travel to our campus for the specific purpose of interviewing preselected students for currently open positions.  This is a great opportunity to interview with employers specifically interested in UMBC students and offers the advantage of a smaller applicant pool.  Interviews take place during the fall and spring.     <div>The DST Internship Program is designed to provide college students real-life work experience that directly correlates to their field of study while making a valuable contribution to our organization. High performing interns may have the opportunity for future internships or full-time opportunities with DST Systems.</div>

    <div>We have a number of technical internships for Computer Science and Information Technology majors.  Opportunities include Software Development, Software Design, and Network Administration.</div>
    <div><br></div>
    <div>Summer interns will be on a full-time basis for 8-10 weeks beginning the first week in June.  All internships are located in their Baltimore based office. </div>

    <p>DST Internship Program - designed to bridge the gap between the classroom and your future.</p>
    <p>Our Internships provide real-life work experiences that are closely related to your field of study, as well as integrating you into our DST culture. In addition to challenging work and making a valuable contribution, you will have the opportunity to be coached and mentored by some of the top leaders in our organization. High performing interns may have the opportunity for future internships or full-time opportunities with DST Systems.</p>
    <p>Internship opportunity for a college student with major in Computer Science or Information Technology to work with a mentor, and receive on the job training while gaining professional experience. Learn directly from experienced professionals and managers with knowledge across numerous industries and services. Apply academic studies to contribute on various projects. Participate in real, meaningful work assignments to learn how your academic experience translates to the professional environment.</p>
    <p>Programming Intern: Will work on DST Brokerage Solutions development projects programming in JAVA or PHP. These projects are for new web-facing SaaS based products being built for Independent Brokder Dealer Advisors. All development projects are run in a Scrum Agile methodology. The intern will also work with Wikki Markup language in Atalassian Confluence used for collaboration and sharing of all our team information across all locations.</p>
    <p>Responsibilities:</p>
    <p>· Perform challenging project tasks that will have an impact on DST’s business</p>
    <p>· Shadow and learn from DST leaders while practicing classroom knowledge in a real-life setting</p>

    <div>Minimum Qualifications</div>
    <div>•Enrolled as a college Freshman-Senior with a minimum of 9 credit hours in the current semester and semester following the internship</div>
