UMBC is part of eduroam which allows UMBC students, faculty and staff to use their UMBC ID for wifi access at over 5000 participating educational and research institutions. Most of these are outside the US, but there are 79 eduroam sites in the US, including (in the mid-atlantic ares) UMCP, UMUC, UMB, Morgan State, Georgetown, UPenn, Temple, Drexel, Swarthmore, Princeton, UVA, PSU and Pitt.  Just look for the wifi access point named eduroam.
