Google Session Follow-up
posted over 13 years ago
We want to thank everyone who attended the Google Session today. The CPS IT Team found the dialog and questions to be very conducive in learning more about Google products and other collaboration tools. We hope the session was beneficial to the attendees.
Here are some links to information discussed during the session:
In addition, here is a link to some Google instructional videos that we found on eHow.com. Some are more beneficial than others, but there is definitely some good information to be found here.
Below are some questions stemming from the session that the CPS IT team have done some research on. Please take a look when you have a chance. Please feel free to add any comments to this post.
Are there any keyboard shortcuts within Gmail web client?
Take a look at this link: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=6594 .
Is there anyway within Gmail to look up/define words?
We could not find any mechanism inherently in the Gmail client, but we did find a way to look up a word on the Internet. If you highlight a word in Gmail and then right-click on the word then there will be an option to search the web online. In Internet Explorer when you do this there is an option labeled “Search with Bing” and in Firefox there is an option labeled “Search Google for “WORD” ” (Now this assumes that your browser is setup with the default install options).
Thanks,
CPS IT
