2. Using teaching assistants and teaching fellows well in online courses.

3. Best Practices and approaches for online Project-based classes.

Description: In this session, we will explore techniques that were successful in conducting project-based learning online during Spring 2020 and Fall 2020 semesters, as well as some things that weren’t as successful. We’ll give different perspectives about different platforms for this kind of online instruction, including Webex, Webex Teams, Blackboard Collaborate, and others. Participants are encouraged to bring their own examples and experiences for discussion during the session.

5.Academic Integrity & Talk on online assessment activities: Working group

Description: The online environment takes us out of the usual practice of classroom-based exams, and good online practice also encourages a multitude of assessment methods. 8. Peer to peer support.

Description: In this workshop, the Faculty will share perspectives on how to scaffold a course, assignments, or projects to encourage students to work together outside of the classroom. Have you ever wondered why students struggle with certain concepts or make the learning choices they do? Would you like to assess the impact of your pedagogical approach on your students' learning? Have you thought about trying to integrate engineering or computing education research into a class or project and wonder how to do that?
The Engineering and Computing Education Program and the Faculty Development Center will offer a series of workshops on aspects of developing a research agenda in engineering and computing education. Through activities and discussions, we will provide examples of well-established research projects and ideas to help you incorporate educational research into your classes and current projects.
The first workshop of the series, What is Computing and Engineering Education will be held on March 4th from 12:00 to 1:30 pm in ITE 238. To register please visit the "Events" tab and click on "Going" at the bottom of the page.
