Guest facilitator: Maria Sanchez


A discussion group for UMBC's women in STEM. In our October meeting, we will discuss the topic of "imposter syndrome," how it affects women in STEM fields, and ways to combat it. Our guest facilitator will be Maria Sanchez, Director of Education and Outreach in the College of Engineering and Information Technology (COEIT).

Each discussion group will take place on the third Friday of the month from 12 to 1 pm. Guest facilitators (staff and faculty in STEM fields at UMBC) change each month.

The inaugural College of Engineering and Information Technology (COEIT) Celebration was held on May 6, 2018 in the UMBC Retriever Activity Center. Faculty, staff, and students were recognized for their contributions and achievements.

Student organizations, capstone students, departments, and programs shared information about their their activities throughout the year. Students received awards to celebrate their achievements. Faculty and staff were also recognized for their ongoing contributions to the COEIT mission and strategic plan. See more information on the event program. [PDF]
