AOC APG Scholarship - Apply Today! For Engineering and Computer Science Majors Association of Old Crows APG-Susquehanna Chapter
Student Scholarship 2016-2017

Five students will each receive a $1,000 scholarship from the Association of Old Crows (AOC) APG-Susquehanna Chapter and a one year AOC membership from the National AOC. Winners will be recognized and awarded scholarships at the Chapter Distinguished Speaker and Scholarship Awards Luncheon scheduled for March 23, 2017.

Requirements: Students must be undergraduate degree-seeking in the areas of engineering or computer sciences and be able to articulate a career interest related to the AOC professional mission in the fields of military communications, electronic warfare, electromagnetic spectrum management operations, cyber electromagnetic activities, and/or information operations. For example, a future career on a team that: develops systems that protect pilots from enemy anti-aircraft weapons and ground troops and civilians from IEDs or develops tools and programs to counter enemy cyber-attacks.

Instructions: Please complete the application and essay and return to your school representative with two academic reference letters of from your current university/college. Submission deadline is Monday January 30, 2017. Scholarship winners will be notified through their school by February 20, 2017.

The Graduate School at NC State University will host a Scholars Visitation Program, February 26-28, 2017. These programs are provided at no cost to students who are accepted into the visitation program. Completed applications can be emailed directly to the Program Director, Brett A. Locklear. Program Overview

North Carolina State University’s Graduate School is committed to enhancing the diversity of its graduate programs. The NC State Scholars Visitation Program is targeted towards student scholars (Gates, LSAMP, MARC, McNair, Meyerhoff, Mellon Mays, RISE, etc.) who are interested in graduate study at NC State University. The program provides an opportunity for prospective scholars to visit our campus, at no cost, to learn more about current research of our faculty and graduate students, and to experience the quality of our graduate programs. The program contributes to the ethnic, cultural, and academic diversity of NC State’s Graduate School and our Professional Colleges.

UMBC has been selected as one of fifteen schools to participate in the Building Recruiting and Inclusion for Diversity (BRAID) project, a 15-campus initiative aimed at improving and diversifying computing education. The BRAID research team has been working with our department to improve the undergraduate computing experience. Based on your enrollment in this course, you will be receiving an email inviting you to take a short survey about your experiences in computing. I strongly encourage you to participate in this survey, since your participation is vital to understanding the diverse experiences of computing students. The first 400 respondents to complete the survey across the BRAID campuses will receive a $15 Amazon gift card as compensation and all students who complete the survey will be entered in a drawing to win one of two $125 Amazon gift cards. National Electronics Museum Scholarship


The National Electronic Museum (NEM) is offering up to a $3,500 scholarship for students enrolled in UMBC Engineering or Computer Science undergraduate programs. Students must have completed their freshman year, have a cumulative GPA better than 3.5 / 4.0, be a citizen of the United States, Maryland resident, and meet the requirements for financial aid. The scholarship may be renewed each year at the discretion of the NEM board.
