[11/20-22/2009] -- The UMBC chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) recently participated in the Academic Technical Bowl Competition. UMBC took 26 students to the Fall Regional 2 Conference “Engineering a Global Impact,” which was held in Greensboro, NC November 20-22, 2009. Two of UMBC’s teams placed 5th and 6th place, with Natée Johnson (Mechanical Engineering) and Jasmine Jones (Computer Science) tying for third place in the research exhibition. Natée will be moving on to compete nationally at the end of March. The step team placed a very close second.
The NSBE-UMBC chapter is sending team members to the NSBE 36th Annual National Convention, which will be held in Toronto, Canada March 31—April 4, 2010. Check this space for updates!
