Attention CNMS Students:
We have been in communication with the UMBC Registrar's Office regarding contingency plans for Advance Registration in the event of a campus closure and/or power outage resulting from Hurricane Sandy.
What we know so far:
- If campus is OPEN, Advance Registration will begin next week, as scheduled
- If campus is CLOSED, but HAS POWER, Advance Registration will begin next week, as scheduled.
- If campus is CLOSED, and has NO POWER, stay tuned to UMBC Insights, the UMBC Homepage, and E2Campus Alerts for further information and instructions.
Seniors and Juniors - Because you register earliest, your registration is more likely to be affected if a power outage occurs early next week. You should make a plan for finding alternate access to power and internet (public library, etc.), in the event that storm damage results in lost power and/or internet at home and also prevents you from making it to campus.
If you have an advising appointment scheduled for next week, you should check your email routinely (if possible) for any messages from your advisor. Be prepared to reschedule appointment times if storm damage prevents you or your advisor from keeping your previously scheduled appointment.
Students living on campus can find more information about how to prepare for a hurricane on the Residential Life web site.
Students, faculty, and staff who live off-campus can find information about how to prepare for a hurricane on the Maryland Emergency Management Agency's (MEMA) web site.
Stay safe!
