Take part in a UMBC-based survey

Please see information below about a study open to all UMBC undergraduate students 18 years and older: 

We are conducting an online survey study to learn more about the willingness of individuals to accept a potential mobile app that shows an estimation of the occupancy level of different spaces (buildings, floors, etc.) on campus in real time. We are inviting you to participate in our study. Your opinions are critical to developing a useful tool for supporting individual decision-making in these uncertain times!

You will be asked to complete a brief online Qualtrics screening survey that will take less than 5 minutes to complete and includes basic demographic and COVID-19 related questions. You will also be asked to provide an email address if you are willing to participate in the main study survey. Some students will then be selected to complete another online Qualtrics survey that will take less than 30 minutes and will explain the proposed technology and ask about your interest in and willingness to adopt this technology. 

To participate in this study, you must be a UMBC undergraduate student and 18 years or older.  

After completing the screening survey, you will be entered into a drawing to win one of ten $10 gift cards. If you are selected for and complete the main study survey, you will be compensated with a $10 gift certificate for your time and contributions.

Are you registered for classes for the fall semester? If not, please reach out to your assigned advisor ASAP! If you are a returning student, you can find your advisor here. If you are an incoming student, please reach out to CNMS Advising at cnmsadvising@umbc.edu. 

Please note that advising clearance is separate from other enrollment holds. If you have a negative service indicator in your advising profile that is preventing you from registering for classes, please see your myUMBC alerts for information about the issue and which office to contact to resolve it.

The 2022 fall semester is fast approaching, and as such, it’s important to check your schedule before the semester starts. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

• Are you registered for classes?
• Does your schedule still work for you?
• Are you registered in enough credits? If you intend to be a full-time student, you should be taking at least 12 credits in a semester, but we recommend enrolling in around 15. Please note that waitlisted courses do not count toward full-time status.

If you need to make changes to your schedule, the last day to add or drop classes is September 14; however, course availability is low, so please check your registration and make any necessary changes as soon as possible.
