Withdraws count as an attempt in the course but do not impact your GPA.

If withdrawing from one or more courses will bring you to less than full time status (12 credits) there may be impacts in other areas such as scholarship, financial aid, and on-campus housing. Questions about those areas should be directed to the appropriate office.

You will want to work through this helpful withdraw worksheet for more information on the withdraw policy, procedure, and checklist BEFORE you make any decisions. 

Students can withdraw from the entire semester though the last day of classes, May 16th. 

Be sure to confer with your assigned advisor about your academic options. 

For students in CHEM101: 

You can pick up a CHEM101 Exam 2 Practice Test and Answer Key in UC 205 from 12-4 PM today (Thursday 3/30) if you would like a printed copy. The exam and answer key are also available on Blackboard.

If you plan to attend, please be ON TIME and bring a pencil and scientific (non-graphing) calculator. Scratch paper and a practice exam will be provided. You will be given an answer key when you complete the exam to correct it in your own time. 

If you cannot attend the practice exam but would like a copy, you can pick one up in UC 205 until Thursday afternoon. Please note that the office will only be open at these times:

1:00-3:00 WEDNESDAY 3/29 (you can get a practice exam from UC 115 between 3.4:30)

9:30 AM - 2:00 PM THURSDAY 3/30

Please bring a scientific calculator and something to write with! 

We will provide the CHEM101 approved practice test (including a periodic table) and scratch paper. You will be given an answer key on your way out.

Please note: if you attend both exams, you will be given the same test.

If you cannot attend the practice exams but would like a printed copy of the practice test, the test and answer key will be available to pick up in UC 205 (CNMS Advising) until Thursday afternoon.

Welcome back from Spring Break students! Guess what?!? It's ADVISING SEASON!

NOTE**: The FALL 2023 Schedule of Classes went LIVE TODAY (3/27). You can begin reviewing course/schedule options right away however you will want to take note of your earliest registration date/time (based on earned credits). A comprehensive chart for all registration dates/times can be found here. Initial registration times for undergraduate students will begin as early as April 4th for students who have earned 120 credits or more and will continue in descending earned credit order through to April 24th when all continuing students are eligible. You can verify your specific date/time for registration via your myUMBC account. **

SUMMER 2023 Registration began on March 1st. Advising is not mandatory for summer registration however you will want to discuss your plans with your assigned advisor in order to confirm accurate Fall 2023 course suggestions. If you intend to take course at another institution during this time you will first need to complete a Verification of Transferability Form at least three weeks PRIOR to your registration elsewhere. Advisor support/signatures are needed for major-related coursework only.

Please bring a pencil and scientific calculator. We will be timing you, so be sure to arrive by 3:00! Please note that we will be giving out the same practice exam at both sessions. We will provide you with an answer key when you are finished with the test. 

Please note: we will be simulating a test environment. You must silence all electronics and no study aids will be permitted during these practice exams.

Can't make it? Pick up a copy of the practice exam and answer key in UC 205 this week and take the test on your own time.
