If you haven't noticed, we have a couple large brown tables located on the lobby and 2nd floor of The Commons that we affectionately call our "surfboard" tables. Throughout the semester we showcase events, departments, and organizations on the tables for the UMBC community to see.
For those that don't know, this week is National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week.
University Health Services and the Peer Health Educators will be promoting alcohol awareness and responsible drinking. Join them for the 4th annual OktSoberFest on the patio of the Lower Level of Flat Tuesdaystoday from 11am - 2pm.
There will be plenty of fun games and prizes to give out! The
UMBC Police will be there - see if you can ride a tricycle around cones while
wearing beer goggles! And Flat Tuesdays staff will be there serving
non-alcoholic smoothies for FREE!
For more information you can visit our surfboard table on the 2nd floor of The Commons in front of the SIC; or to get involved, contact Mickey Arora at
parora@umbc.edu or x5-3752
October is also Domestic Violence Awareness Month. University Health Services' Office of Health Education has teamed up with The Women's Center to showcase an entire month full of events related to the topic of domestic or relationship violence.
More information on Domestic Violence Awareness can be found on the surfboard table located on the Lobby level of The Commons.
