Dr. Ryan White has published "A Random Walk on a Leash: A Simple Single Molecule Diffusion Model for Surface-Tethered Redox Molecules with Flexible Linkers" model to simulate the Brownian motion and the electrochemical response of a single molecule confined to an electrode surface via a flexible molecular tether. The utilization of electrode-tethered redox moieties is found throughout many fields and disciplines including chemical- and bio-sensor development, molecular electronics and the molecular storage of energy and data.
