The NNSA has entry level opportunities that will help students transition from the classroom to the workforce. The FLP is a structured two-year entry-level developmental program used as a succession planning tool to generate talent pipelines to fill mission critical positions. Through an aggressive internal training program, a variety of development activities, on the job training, and a state of the art dual mentoring program, participants develop their leadership and technical competencies to successfully execute NNSA’s nuclear security mission.
The selection process for Future Leaders is extremely competitive. Candidates are carefully selected for specific mission critical positions by NNSA hiring managers throughout the complex.
Program requirements and the positions we are currently recruiting for are summarized below. The FLP vacancy announcement is now open, and will close on November 13, 2011.
The Qualifications for FLP are:
- U.S. citizenship at time of application;
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the “Q” level and pass pre-employment and random drug testing while employed;
- A
bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in an engineering or scientific discipline;
- Graduation from an accredited university within the past two years;
- A 3.0 GPA or higher (candidates with at least a 2.8 cumulative GPA who have shown leadership qualities though excellence in extracurricular activities or work experience may also be considered);
- Ability to perform challenging assignments nation-wide for two years; and
· A requirement to commit to the Federal Government for a minimum of 24 months after successful graduation from the program.
