On behalf of the Chief Information Officer of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), high-performing university students are invited to participate in the annual CMS Federal Information Technology and Security Professions Day event.
The event will be held at the CMS facility in Woodlawn, MD on March 22, 2016 from 8:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and will be limited to the first 25 eligible students who register. (YOU MUST RSVP THROUGH UMBCworks)
ELIGIBILITY
Eligible students must be enrolled in an accredited college or university program at the
time of the program and must possess a cumulative 3.0 grade point average on a 4 point
scale. Additionally, ideal participants will have a keen interest in the fields of
Information Technology/Information Security as demonstrated by undertaking a rigorous
course of study in that field.
TRANSPORTATION
Transportation is not provided. Participants must arrange their own transportation. The main CMS facility is located in Woodlawn, MD. CMS maintains additional outlying buildings in the same geographic area.
ACCESSING THE FACILITY
Punctuality is critical. Participants must arrive at the designated CMS site on time for the presentation. Positive identification is required to access the facility – examples of acceptable identification include: United States Passport or a State-issued driver’s license/identification card. Please allow an additional 15 minutes upon arrival at the main security gate for vehicle inspection, parking, individual security screening, and escort to the assembly area. Please note: CMS is a secure Federal facility, and articles such as mace/pepper spray, sharp tools, firearms, etc. are not permitted on the campus.
ATTIRE
Students should be dressed in business attire, with shoes that are appropriate for traversing a large campus.
LUNCH
Participants should either supply their own lunch or purchase items from the CMS cafeteria.
