The Maryland CASH Campaign™ was established in 2005 to link asset building programs in Maryland together and to strengthen products and policies that promote financial security for families.
Maryland CASH promotes programs, products, and policies that protect and grow the financial security of working families by improving the availability of financial education, providing practitioner training and professional development, conducting research, and advocating for policy change. Maryland CASH partners with nonprofits, government agencies, the financial service industry, higher education institutions, elected officials, and private foundations across the state of Maryland.
Currently, Maryland CASH is looking for two students to join their six-month Maryland Community Fellow Program in Spring of 2016. Placements will be located in Charles and Harford Counties and require 3 days/week for a total of 20 hours each week.
Graduate students are preferred, however, part/full-time Juniors and Seniors will be considered as well. All majors considered.
The Maryland Community Fellow Program is a partnership between the Maryland CASH Campaign, the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, and various Community Action Agencies (CAAs) statewide. The Maryland Community Fellows Program began in 2009 as a way to increase the capacity of CAAs to offer free tax preparation and financial education as well as other asset building and human services to the communities they serve. The fellowship is an 8-month program. Fellows will receive training on free tax preparation, financial education, and a $9,000 stipend.
