Join Gore Engineering!
Chemical and Mechanical engineers apply here.
Gore is a technology-driven global company built on entrepreneurial innovation, integrity, and teamwork. Our diverse portfolio includes everything from high-performance fabrics and implantable medical devices to industrial manufacturing components and aerospace electronics. Through our product leadership, we've been changing lives and changing industries for more than 50 years. What can you change by joining Gore?
As an upcoming college graduate, you may not have much experience in the field of engineering, but your ideas and perspective are important to us. We value diverse viewpoints and believe that strong collaboration enables us to make the best decisions. You'll get firsthand experience with our people, our values, our processes, and our culture as you work on small teams to create products that enhance the quality of life.
As an engineer at Gore, you typically work in cross-functional project teams focused on a common goal. The ability to partner with other disciplines and adapt to the latest technology is essential. Gore is looking for talented hands-on individuals who have demonstrated the initiative to apply engineering fundamentals to technical challenges and successfully navigate ambiguity to solve problems and deliver results.
Gore typically places new graduate engineers in the following types of commitments:
Process Engineering
As a process engineer, you will focus on process improvement and modification, expansion of process capabilities, and further enhancement of ePTFE technology while ensuring a safe and cost-effective work environment. You will contribute to the installation, operation, maintenance, and upgrade of production and testing equipment, equipment layout, and workflow.
Product Development
In product development, activities may include planning and designing products, equipment, and product applications; prototype installation and operation, and recording and analyzing data gathered from prototype testing; and working with customers to meet end user needs with design solutions and product innovations. Additionally, you may be involved in identifying potential markets and develop products while continuously improving existing ones.
Mechanical Design Engineering
The design of processing equipment is a key capability at Gore due to the unique and proprietary nature of our products. As a mechanical design engineer, you will actively participate in the design, fabrication, assembly, installation, and support of a wide variety of equipment used to manufacture a broad range of products. Typical responsibilities also include project management, development of specifications, equipment qualification and project documentation.
Automation Controls / Design & Automation Engineering
As an automation controls engineer, you can expect to actively participate in the design, installation, and support of a wide variety of unique manufacturing machines and processes, as well as facilities infrastructure projects. Typical responsibilities include the selection of control system hardware, instrumentation, machine programming (PLC, Drives, Robotics, etc.), operator interface development (HMI), coordinated motion control (servos, AC and DC drives, hydraulics, and pneumatics), project management, specification development, schematic development, machine documentation, and data acquisition.
Quality Engineering
As a quality engineer, you will evaluate fitness for use of materials, designs, processes, tests and products (from technology development through manufacturing.) Some of the responsibilities include designing, executing and analyzing experiments as well as understanding device use, evaluating and validating components and materials, and developing material and product specifications. Throughout the life cycle of the product you will work with engineers, product and clinical specialists, manufacturing, and other teams, and will have direct impact on the quality of our existing products as well as on next generation products during design and development.
