The Rangel International Affairs Summer Enrichment Program is a six-week program at Howard University that helps prepare undergraduate students for careers in international affairs. It includes three for-credit academic courses, visits and meetings with foreign affairs professionals in a wide range of government and non-governmental activities, and professional development activities. It pays for tuition, room, board, and transportation and provides a stipend. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship; a comprehensive GPA of at least 3.2, and full-time undergraduate student status. The Rangel Program encourages the application of members of minority groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service and those with financial need. It welcomes applications from those with any undergraduate major. Information and application materials for both programs are at www.rangelprogram.org. The application deadline is February 10, 2014. The Program is funded by the U.S. Department of State and managed by Howard University.
