<Title>Internal funding: SURE (to hire undergrad researchers)</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><span>Dear Colleagues,</span><div><br></div><div>The Office of the Vice President for Research is pleased to share this annual call for applications for the <a href="https://research.umbc.edu/sure/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Supplement for Undergraduate Research Experiences (SURE)</a> internal funding program. SURE awards are used by faculty recipients to provide hourly salaries to undergraduate research assistants who are in their first four semesters as students at UMBC.</div><div><br></div><div>As in recent years, we are combining the SURE application process with the application to create a Federal Work Study position. That is, by applying for a SURE award, you are also making your position description available for prospective FWS student applications, who would be paid for by FWS funds.</div><div><br></div><div>If you are applying for SURE, participation in the FWS supervisor training on <strong>June 29, 2022</strong> is strongly encouraged (sign up <a href="https://umbc.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_erjtP8LXwL7IoWa" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">here</a>). The deadline for FWS and SURE is <strong>July 18, 2022</strong>.
