Applications are <span>due by April 15th</span>  <span><a href="https://forms.gle/C9z44tCXab7Emwhn7" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Apply Here </a></span></p><h3><ul><li><span>Arthur Johnson Transfer Scholarship</span></li></ul></h3><ul><li>– The scholarship is awarded to a student who has transferred from another college or university, is majoring in Political Science, has a minimum 3.00 UMBC cumulative GPA, and has at least 24 UMBC credits. The deadline is April15th to be considered for support in the following academic year. Financial support of $3,000-3,500 is anticipated. It allowed me to take courses based on children ( as a pediatric physical therapist), fulfill my prerequisite courses for DPT school, and to take some business courses in case I ever want to switch to the business side of physical therapy or run my own practice someday.</span></p><p><strong>What are your plans for after graduation, and how do you see using your INDS degree?</strong></p><p>After graduation, I will be attending a Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Marymount University in the fall. I see myself using this degree to remember that physical therapy isn't just about physical needs but mental, social and spiritual needs as well.     <div class="html-content">On Tuesday, April 16th at 7:30pm, Ellington Carthan '18 (Music Technology and Jazz Studies) will be performing the music of Duke Ellington at the Kennedy Center with the <a href="https://www.postclassical.com/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">PostClassical Ensemble</a>.     <div class="html-content"><p>The GES Department invites you to attend Molly Finch’s
    thesis presentation. Molly is a member of UMBC’s ICARE program and a GIS
    professional working for conservation nonprofits. Her research explores President
    Biden’s Justice40 Initiative and its local implications. Looking at how federal
    environmental funds have been distributed in the past can offer solutions to
    meet current environmental goals (i.e., greening projects) in Baltimore. </p>
    
    <span>Molly’s thesis presentation will take place this
    Friday, April 12<sup>th</sup> at 1pm in Sondheim room 001. The event will be

    <div class="html-content"><p><strong>Dr. Nessette Falu</strong>, Assistant Professor, Africa and African Diaspora Studies at the University of Texas at Austin, will be discussing her new book, <a href="https://www.dukeupress.edu/unseen-flesh" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Unseen Flesh</a>, on <strong>Tuesday, April 16th from 12:00 to 1:00 pm</strong> at this virtual link: <a href="https://us06web.zoom.us/j/81012539252" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">https://us06web.zoom.us/j/81012539252</a>.</p><div>From 2002-2019, Dr. Falu worked as a Physician Assistant in neurosurgery, 
    internal medicine, HIV care, hematology/oncology, and pain management that has deeply informed her ongoing research and 
    pedagogy. <br></div><div><br></div><div>Her book explores how Black lesbians in Brazil define and sustain their 
    well-being and self-worth against persistent racial, sexual, class, and 
    gender-based prejudice. Demonstrating how the racist and heteronormative 
    underpinnings of gynecology erase Black lesbian subjecthood through 
    mental, emotional, and physical traumas, Falu explores the daily 
    resistance and abolitionist practices of worth-making that claim and
