dialogue with Anneke Dunbar-Gronke, Prof. Fouts will discuss research
methods in food studies, community engagement, and multiracial worker
power building in New Orleans and Honduras. Drawing from work with the
Baltimore Field School, Fouts will connect this research to current
worker-led initiatives in Baltimore and reflect on the urgency of this
work amid ongoing attacks on immigrant communities.

Sonya Squires-Caesar successfully defends
her Dissertation
On May 29,
2025, Sonya Squires-Caesar of
LLC Cohort 13 successfully defended her dissertation and earned the title of
Doctor of Philosophy.
Her virtual
defense went smoothly and she gave a powerful presentation of her dissertation
research, Money Tales: Tangled Financial Socialization of US Immigrants’ Use
of Rotating Savings and Credit Association.
