3D printing, digital fabrication usher in new manufacturing era for Maryland

Maryland is in position to benefit from the fast-growing 3D printing and digital fabrication industry that some are calling the next industrial revolution, several tech executives said Tuesday.
“I believe that we are at the center of the digital fabrication universe,” Mike Adelstein, the CEO of Potomac Photonics, said as he celebrated his company’s move to its new home at bwtech@UMBC.
Potomac Photonics focuses on digital manufacturing, providing its customers with small hole drilling, laser micromachining, micromarking and 3D printing. In addition to celebrating the company’s move, Potomac Photonics also on Tuesday hosted a digital fabrication summit.
