Faculty mentor team pairs, Drs. Hoffman and Robinson and Drs. Peercy and Starz-Gaiano, presented their teams' work in the mini-symposium, Dynamics of Melanopsin and Collective Cell Migration: Two Collaborative Studies at the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) Life Sciences bi-annual conference held this year in Charlotte, NC. Dr. Peercy took the opportunity of the SIAMLS conference, an event generally for applied mathematicians albeit focused on biology, to invite experimental collaborators and showcase the close interdisciplinary collaborations fostered by UMBC's vision of the NSF-UBM grant.
