    <div class="html-content">Nikaela, a HHMI student performing research in the lab of Dr. Lasse Lindahl is the recipient of the UNCF Merck Undergraduate Science Research Scholarship award.  This award is given to 15 African American undergraduate students to encourage their interest in furthering their science education and their pursuit of biological, chemical or engineering science careers by providing tuition support of up to $25,000 for the academic year 2015-2016 and opportunities for a research internship assignment at a Merck Facility for 10-12 weeks.</div>

    <div class="html-content">Congratulations to Danielle Tyson for receiving the prestigious UNCF-Merck Undergraduate Science Research Scholarship award!  Danielle Tyson is a junior undergraduate student majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.  She has worked in  Dr. Weihong Lin’s laboratory and  presented at URCAD in 2014.  Currently, Danielle works in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry with Dr. Zeev Rosenzweig on the synthesis of gold nanoparticles capped with various functional groups.</div>

    <div class="html-content">Akua Nimarko, senior Meyerhoff/HHMI/MARC Scholar and Goldwater fellow, has been selected to attend the 65th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting to be held from 28 June to 3 July 2015, in Lindau, Germany. Only the 650 most qualified young scientists worldwide can be given the opportunity to share the unique atmosphere of the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings. Akua currently is doing research in Dr. Weihong Lin’s laboratory in our department to identify putative receptors for xenobiotic detection in the nose using quantitative PCR under a URA award.</div>
