    <div class="html-content"><h2><a href="https://my3.my.umbc.edu/groups/accessibility/events?mode=upcoming" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Friday, February 4, 2022</a><span> </span><span>· 12 - 1 PM</span></h2><div><div>Online</div></div><hr><div></div><div><div><p><span><a href="https://fm.umbc.edu/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Facilities Management</a> and the </span><a href="https://accessibility.umbc.edu/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Office of Accessibility and Disability Services</a><span> are hosting a review of recent, current and potential construction projects that enhance accessibility, improve the physical environment of UMBC, and benefit the entire community while supporting accessibility for people with disabilities. </span></p><p><span>Learn about the progress being made (have you used the new elevators in Fine Arts, Sondheim and Schwartz Hall?), projects on the horizon, and share ideas to inform the proposal process for UMBC's continued participation with the </span><a href="http://mdod.maryland.gov/accessmd/pages/access-Maryland-Home.aspx" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">AccessMD Program</a><span>. Other updates that enhance accessibility beyond the scope of the program will be shared because renovations and new construction include accessibility as part of the design process.  <br></span></p><br><p>Please RSVP below for interim communication and direct communication. We will discuss appointment letters, tuition remission, registration requirements, what to do if questions or problems arise, FICA, and much more.</span></p><p><strong>The New Graduate Assistant (GA) Orientation will be offered on Feb 3 from 1PM-2PM. </strong></p><p>Please note that this is a required session for new Spring 2022 GAs. All NEW Research Assistants, Teaching Assistants, Graders, Administrative Assistants and Peaceworkers, must attend. </p><ul><li>Participants will have an opportunity to meet and ask questions of administrators who work closely with GAs. </li><li>Although the session is for GAs, faculty and staff are always welcome to attend. The primary responsibility will be to assist with the "Manifest" process, where test samples are collected, transported, documented, and prepared for shipment to the laboratory.
