Baltimore Underground Science Space (BUGSS) is a non-profit public laboratory offering science communication outreach. They are hosting a Science Slam at Red Emma's on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 4:00 PM and would love it if you could join us as a presenter! 

They are almost at capacity for this event and are looking for 2 additional speakers. However, they hope to hold these events quarterly. If you are interested, please reach out and they will note you down for a future event.

Sign up to give a quick 5-minute presentation on your research. This is a perfect opportunity for undergraduate or graduate students. The subject can be any STEM topic of your choosing. The event is geared to the general public. We can help you with tailoring your talk to this audience if needed. My name is Layla Chen, and I am writing on behalf of our research team at Boston University College of Communication. We are conducting a study with the help of BU’s LGBTQIA+ Student Resource Center to understand the well-being and media consumption habits of international LGBTQ+ students studying in the U.S.. International LGBTQ+ students may experience identity conflict as they navigate their ethnocultural and LGBTQ+ identities, and we seek to examine this phenomenon with this national survey.
The more insight we obtain beyond the BU campus, the more research rigor and positive impact we have.
