DoIT received reports from several campus users of slowness in the UMBC Blackboard (Bb) production system on Thursday evening, April 4. Upon investigation DoIT staff found that one of three Bb application servers had failed, and has subsequently been restarted. Campus users who were logged in to that particular server early Thursday evening (approximately 6:30 - 8 pm) may have experienced either slow loading of pages, or a lack of responsiveness. Emptying the browser cache and then closing and restarting the browser should solve any issues. DoIT staff are actively working with Blackboard, Inc. to troubleshoot the cause of the failure.
