BALTIMORE�The UMBC women's lacrosse team (5-3) used a 12-0 run that spanned both halves and lasted more than 35 minutes to take control of the game and defeated visiting American (2-6) by a score of 19-2 Wednesday afternoon at UMBC Stadium. The Retrievers completed a perfect 3-0 home stand and are off to their best eight-game start since 1994.
