Full Title: Women's Lacrosse Standout Amanda Pappas Voted UMBC Athlete of the Month for MayBALTIMORE�Senior midfielder Amanda Pappas of the women's lacrosse team was named UMBC's Athlete of the Month for May 2011 in a poll of fans conducted from May 31-June 6. Pappas received 258 of 360 total votes (71.7 percent) to outdistance herself from runner-up Katie Ferguson (44 votes, 12.2 percent). Michael Christmas and Amanda Deller of track and field and D.J. Ream of baseball were also nominated.
