BALTIMORE- The seventh-ranked UMBC men's soccer team saw its winning streak of nine to start the season and its unbeaten streak of 18, dating back to 2012, halted as visiting Delaware scored with 3:23 to play in the second overtime period and defeated the Retrievers, 1-0. Earlier in the day, UMBC had moved up four slots and the Retrievers are currently ranked No. 7 in the NSCAA Continental Tire NCAA Division I Men's Soccer poll as of Oct. 1, 2013. In addition, in the first NCAA RPI Men's Soccer Rankings, UMBC is at No. 3 behind only Creighton and UCLA.
