A pair of UMBC Retriever tennis players, senior Kim Berghaus (Offenbach, Germany) and junior Justin Lansinger (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty), each received an Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete Award for carrying a 3.5 or higher for the 2012-13 academic year. Moreover, the women's tennis team was named an ITA All-Academic Team for having a team GPA of 3.2 or higher for the 2012-13 academic year.
