BALTIMORE � UMBC sophomore Katie Bean of the women's swimming and diving team was named the UMBC Athlete of the Month for February 2013, in a poll conducted from Mar. 1-11. Bean won the vote over men's swimming's Mohamed Hussein, track and field's Mercedes Jackson and Trae Proctor, men's basketball's Brian Neller, and women's basketball's Raven Harris.
