BALTIMORE � Sophomore sprinter Mercedes Jackson of the track and field team was named the UMBC Athlete of the Month for December 2012 in a poll conducted from Jan. 2-10. Jackson won the vote over men's basketball's Brett Roseboro and women's basketball's Brittany Crowell.
