UMBC sophomore guards Lauren Chase (Bowie, Md./Riverdale Baptist) and Bria White (Silver Spring, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase/Longwood) combined for 33 points, but it was not enough to overcome the Retrievers' sluggish first half as three Lady Bears scored in double-figures to help Morgan State pick up a 72-61 victory in Friday night's 2012-13 women's basketball season-opener at Hill Field House.
