Randy Monroe has resigned as head men's basketball coach at UMBC, effective immediately, Director of Athletics Dr. Charles Brown announced today. Aki Thomas, who has served the five previous seasons on the Retriever basketball staff, has been named acting head coach for the 2012-13 campaign. UMBC will be actively evaluating the men's basketball program to determine its future direction.
