BALTIMORE � Freshman outside hitter Sherelle Walker of the volleyball team was named UMBC's Athlete of the Month for September 2012 in a poll conducted from October 2-9. Walker won the vote over men's soccer midfielder Milo Kapor, cross country runners Cody Mezebish and Brandan McGee, and women's soccer midfielder Amy Savage.
