Stony Brook, N.Y.- Host Stony Brook broke open a tight game with a 5-1 run to open the second half and tacked on five late goals to defeat UMBC, 16-6, at La Valle Stadium. SBU improved to 9-3 on the season and 2-0 in league play, while UMBC slid to 4-7 overall and 1-2 in America East action. The loss was UMBC's first-ever to Stony Brook in the ninth meeting between league rivals.
