Full Title: Swimming and Diving Standout Pierre De Waal Voted UMBC Athlete of the Month for NovemberBALTIMORE�Junior swimmer Pierre De Waal of the men's swimming and diving team was named UMBC's Athlete of the Month for November 2011 in a poll of fans conducted from Dec. 1-7. De Waal received 338 of 523 total votes (64.6 percent) to outdistance himself from Abbey McKenney of women's swimming and diving (122 votes, 23.3 percent). Erin Brown of women's basketball, Chase Plummer of men's basketball and Dalton Tolliver of volleyball were also nominated.
