Following our scheduled October Assessment 365 session that day from 1-2pm, Dr. Mariann Hawken, Director of Instructional Technology will be leading a virtual presentation open to all UMBC faculty and staff on Accessible Complex Images: Charts, Diagrams, and Infographics. From the workshop description:
"Take your image descriptions to the next level. This session explores practical strategies for describing complex visuals -- such as graphs, conceptual diagrams, and multi-layered infographics -- so that all learners can access the content they convey. We'll also discuss how AI-generated descriptions can support this work, and when they fall short."
