We are pleased to announce the offering of a new peer mentoring program, M.O.D.E.L M.E! This is open to all Mechanical Engineering undergraduate students. Making Outstanding and Dedicated Engineering Leaders (MODEL) is a group dedicated to supporting students throughout their academic careers in the undergraduate mechanical engineering program.
Applications for the positions of Mentor and Mentee are now being accepted and will close on 10/2.
To apply: http://me.umbc.edu/mentoring/
How it works:
Freshman and sophomore students in mechanical engineering are partnered with upperclassmen or graduate student peer mentors in mechanical engineering. This model provides students with the opportunity to help their peers create stronger connections to the university community and its resources as well as have increasingly positive experiences inside and outside the classroom.
There a number of benefits in being a part of a mentoring program!

You will have the chance to benefit personally and professionally from the insight and guidance of your more experienced Peer Mentors.

-Optimize your future career options
As a Peer Mentor (Junior or above):
Take advantage of this opportunity to improve your leadership and communication skills, learn new perspectives and ways of thinking, advance your career, and gain a great sense of personal satisfaction.
