The federal government has rolled up a new official language: plain English (thank goodness for that!). Pressure from grammarians in the civil service coerced President Obama to sign the Plain Writing Act. Now, federal agencies must write plainly in new or substantially-revised documents produced for the public. But they can still write in gibberish to themselves...
Now... if only I could get my hands on a copy of the Constitution or some other government document that I can easily understand, in plain English.
