I AM A MUSLIM!
BTW its Islamic Awareness week at UMBC!!
You may wonder: Why should I want to learn about Islam and Muslims? Good question! Here are three reasons:
1) Nearly 1 in 4 people worldwide is a Muslim, and thus believe in the teachings of the Qur'an and the Prophet Muhammad. Wouldn't it be cool to be aware of what over a billion people adhere to?
2) In "The 100: A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons in History",the author, Michael H. Hart, ranks the Prophet Muhammad as the most influential person in history. According to Hart, the prophet was successful in both religious and secular realms. Wouldn't it be wise to learn about the religion of the most influential man in human history??!!! (In my opinion, it would be wise to at least learn about the top 10)
3) The Qur'an is a magnificent book. Don't take my word for it, listen for yourself (takes 2 minutes, really) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mn3Z-axJYXA. Muslims believe it to be the final revelation of God, still in its original form. Over a billion Muslims around the world memorize it, read it daily, and strive to live by it.
Thanks for reading and Watching :)
