Now, in general in America and other modern nations atheists tend to believe in mainstream scientific ideas, but there is nothing that atheism is tied to. For instance many buddhists can be defined as atheistic. Atheists can believe in souls. Atheism is an adjective, but it describes what someone is not. Some say the word should not even exist because we usually define people and things for what they are, but that said, atheism of course being a rejection of theistic claims, has no dogma; it can be said that it doesn't have a thing to offer you. This video describes how a modern, naturalist atheist, like myself uses the scientific method to justify what is real and what is not real. God being one of those scientific hypothesis. I felt I'd share it with you guys because a lot of people maintain prejudices against atheists and don't understand why we don't believe; we are just skeptical, especially on supernatural claims. I hope that is reasonable. So, hopefully someone will get a more accurate view on what atheism really means.
