"Skyrim: A Mage's Reckoning" (Student Film) Casting Call
posted almost 12 years ago
Hey everyone,
My name is Kosta Viennas. I am a Media & Communications major at UMBC and an officer of the Filmmakers Anonymous club on campus. I am holding a casting call for my first major student film "Skyrim: A Mage's Reckoning" this Friday (1/4/13) from 12pm-3pm in the Performing Arts & Humanities Building. In case you don't know, 'Skyrim' is in reference to the game from the Elder Scrolls series. This is an original fan film based on the lore and inspiration of the game series.
I am looking for actors/actresses, extras, and even cosplayers that have open availability during this month. Below I am going to list the characters and roles that I am looking to fill for the film. I will also include a small list of key attributes for each character.
Primary Characters
Nolrand: main character, white male, intelligent, protective, adventurous, age 18-23. Needed for 2-3 days of filming.
Allister: support character, white male, Nolrand's younger brother, lives in Nolrand's shadow, naive, determined, age 18-21. Needed for 1-2 days of filming.
Brenan: support character, black male, Nolrand's best friend, cautious, sarcastic, rational, age 18-23. Needed for 2-3 days of filming.
Cedran: potential antagonist, white male, Nolrand's rival, egotistical, envious, confrontational, age 18-23. Needed for 1-2 days of filming.
Secondary Characters
Steward: minor character, male/female, has three short lines of dialogue, age 20-30. Needed for 1 day of filming.
Courier: minor character, male, has one line of dialogue and a running sequence, age 20-25. Needed for 1 day of filming.
Healer: minor character, male/female, plays an important role in one scene, caring & concerned, age 25-30. Needed for 1 day of filming.
No major acting experience is required to audition for these roles. I'm looking for people that are passionate about acting and films. Having prior knowledge of the Elder Scrolls series is not a requirement. It can be useful knowledge for some, but you will not be penalized for not knowing about the series.
I am also looking for extras to play a vital role for the film in order to add some much needed scenery and life. If you are or know someone that is a cosplayer that owns costumes that could be relevant to the style of the Elder Scrolls (e.g. mage's robes, medieval-like armor, etc...) please contact me. I could use you as an extra, or even a primary character; if you were to audition. I will have a couple of costumes to provide, but I won't have enough for everyone. Any costume or prop donations would be greatly appreciated and repaid.
I will be sure to provide food and drinks to all people who work on filming days (pizza, Subway, etc...). Please post or click "attending" to say if you plan on coming to the audition. You can contact me at viennas1@umbc.edu if you have any other questions on the audition. If you do plan on attending any of the scheduled auditions, please email me to inform me on which role you're auditioning for.
For people that want to audition, but can't make it on Friday, there will also be two other audition days on Saturday (1/5/13) from 12pm-3pm and Monday (1/7/13) from 10am-12pm in the PAH Building. Thanks and I hope to hear back from some of you soon!
