I'm currently a sophomore and I've been looking into getting a place off campus with some friends for my junior or, worst case, senior year. The thing is, I've been looking at online reviews for places nearby and it seems like every affordable complex is plagued by rats, cockroaches, and/or burglars. I know there are plenty of people who live happily off campus, so I'm figuring the online reviews can at least partially be chalked up to voluntary response bias. So, for the people who live in an off campus apartment or townhouse, what are some communities worth checking out? If you could comment with the name of the complex and how much the rent is, it would be much appreciated.
