I heard from some people to not bother buying textbooks before classes start because although it says that a certain textbook is required, there are some cases where the professor says that the class won't be needing the book at all, which results in a waste of money. So what should I do? Should I just get all the required books and bring them when I'm moving into the dorms anyway or should I just bring enough money to get the books at the bookstore once I found out for sure which books I actually do need?
