Help me create a new organization on campus!!!

So, this is going to sound incredibly cheesy but I just watched a Beyonce video on youtube which mainly documented the progression of her latest cd, and now I am inspired. I found the video incredibly inspirational, only because I really, really, really, would like to affect change (even if only in a small way).
(I'm far from an English major so this may be erroneous) I'm SO very tired of reading statistics that do nothing but depress you unless you have the g.p.a of a baby genius and some extremely overdone work experience. Well, I don't have either and I'd like to get into grad school, preferably, the Public Policy program here @ UMBC, or find a decent paying job pertaining to my major (just cause I love it so much).
That's where you come in, dear reader, if anyone reads this and feels the same way I do please post something or send me an email (I'll include it @ the bottom). Let's take matters into our own hands. Do you want the volunteerism that comes with being in a sorority or fraternity without the life long commitment of pledging? Would you like to put on your resume that you were a leader on campus? Well here's your chance, (not even Beyonce can do it alone). I can't start a change on my own, but with the help of just a few people I know that we can make a difference.
I am interested in making a difference through affecting change at home first. I'd like to start a program that allows for the social interests of all members to be addressed through volunteerism and program creation. (The whole point of this is to gain experience in doing what we have passions for while making a change.)
I would especially like for women who are majoring in sociology to answer, simply because there is nothing specifically catered to us on campus, (but anyone in any major may send me something).
Please, if this sounds even slightly interesting to you please email because I have big ideas that I would love to discuss with you!!!
